New Zealand wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum will play as a batsman in today's One Day International against India in Wellington.

McCullum injured his thumb in the first ODI in Napier on Tuesday, and is unable to keep wickets. He batted in the nets yesterday and after further assessment this morning has been cleared to bat. His place behind the stumps is taken today by Northern Districts keeper Peter McGlashan.

No decision has yet been made on who will drop out of the playing 11. The line up will be named at the toss before today's game, which starts at 2.00pm.
