Crash into cafe doesn't stop driver

At about 02:45 am a car was observed traveling at high speed on Gt South Road in the vicinity of Jordan Street, Ngaruawahia.

The car lost control crashing through a fence and colliding with a building.

The building, described as a cafe has a hole in it where the car struck, the extent of the damage has not been determined.

Following the collision the vehicle was seen at a nearby BP service station, the occupant was observed pumping up his tires before driving off.

The vehicle, possibly a Mazda Familia was heavily damaged. Injuries are unknown.
