From his native New Zealand to his newly adopted home in New York, Simon Spire has long been on a path towards fully capturing his artistic vision. Now, his debut album ALL or NOTHING is officially being released in New Zealand on April 27, backed by a select number of live shows throughout May.

The Auckland-born singer/songwriter has crafted a powerful and evocative debut album, firmly establishing him among today’s best new artists. Moving through straight-up rock ‘n’ roll to energetic power-pop to lush balladry, the album leads the listener through this new artist’s striking impressions of life and uncompromising relationship to it, one that could aptly be described as ALL or NOTHING.

Spire was selected for a career development award by Lenedra Carroll, former longtime manager of singer/songwriter Jewel. Penning the ten album tracks himself for ALL or NOTHING, Spire also worked with Grammy-nominated guitarist/composer Ralf Illenberger at his studio in Sedona, Arizona to produce the album. Illenberger, hailed for his rich soundscapes, proved the perfect producer to help Spire achieve the result he was looking for.

“Initially, Ralf seemed like an unusual choice, given the range of music he’s covered,” Spire says. “But it was this diversity that I think made for a great pairing – he understood both the instrumental emphasis that was important to me, as well as the delivery of the songs themselves. Ralf encouraged me to try things I may not have otherwise tried. I think we complemented each other well. As a team, we came up with something pretty cool.”

The current single ‘Hiding So Long’ is establishing itself at radio, with airplay on The Edge, Classic Hits and More FM. The music video has also enjoyed rotates on C4 Vodafone Select Live and Juice TV.

Simon Spire returns to New Zealand in May to promote the album and perform a number of shows to give kiwi audiences a chance to check him out live:
