Serious Injury Glider Crash in Waikato

Police are attending the scene of serious injury Glider Crash at Matamata Aerodrome, Waharoa. The 16 year old male student Pilot suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Waikato Hospital, his condition was described as critical. The Pilot Instructor received moderate back injuries and was taken by ambulance to Waikato Hospital for further treatment. Police have cordoned off the scene of the crash, and have passed the investigation over to the Civil Aviation Air Accident Investigation Unit.
