Methven launches new feel good range to turn a Home Shower into a Home Spa

Methven, New Zealand’s own designer and marketer of beautiful, water and energy conserving Satinjet showerware, has come up with another world first that can make you feel good without costing the earth.

It’s a simple idea that enables an ordinary shower to be transformed into a personal home spa system. The concept is fit for the times when consumers want to enjoy the good life for less, and continues Methven’s strategy to extend its reach into the beauty and well being channels to place its personal care showering ranges directly in front of consumers.

All you have to do is attach a cleverly designed and patented pod to an existing shower rail, slide or head. The pod comes with a cartridge that is filled with a mood transforming, skin pampering shower infusion from Methven’s specially developed, naturally based range. The shower infusion is released when the shower water runs through the pod to bathe you in a luxurious stream of essential oils, vitamins and fragrances.

The same pod fits the luxurious Satinjet Maia beauty shower, Methven’s first venture into hydrocouture and marketing direct to women through beauty counters. The hand held Maia has a unique, built in Vitamin C filter to neutralise chlorine to better purify the water and protect the face, skin and hair from drying out, as well as all over body spray and deep tissue massage features.

“We are passionate about creating the ultimate showering experience,” Methven’s Chief Marketing Officer, Nicky Dunn says. “We asked women all over the world what they wanted from their daily showering routines. They told us they wanted more than just to come out clean but craved a time out, in the privacy of their own bathroom, to be nurtured, uplifted and pampered and wanted to be able to indulge without feeling any guilt.

“We devised the Maia beauty shower with this in mind and have now taken the concept further with the complementary, easy to use infusion range. We’ve married our prowess in designing and making beautiful to look at, water and energy efficient showers with the individual restorative powers of hydrotherapy and aromatherapy that turns a bathroom into your own spa.”

Methven worked with top dermatologists, aromatherapists and cosmetic makers, both in New Zealand and internationally, to develop the four infusions in the current range. Each infusion contains native New Zealand botanicals and all are free from parabens, sodium laurel and laureth suplates and synthetic colour.

Hydrating hand and body treatments, as well as an aromatherapy candle, are also available as part of the spa range. The starter kit, RRP $149, comes with the pod, shower attachment and two infusion cartridges. Each cartridge will last about a month.
