The future of policy surrounding wind energy in the Tararua district is dominating submissions to the council’s District Plan, which is currently under review.

Supporters and those in opposition will present their views with some 60 submissions to be heard.
The hearings committee is chaired by Deputy Mayor David Lea assisted by Councillors Claire Matthews, David Roberts, Chris Southgate and Warren Davidson.

Hearings are expected to take about two weeks and are open to the public.

They are underway now in Dannevirke at the council chamber.
