LEVIN

A Police car was rammed during a Police pursuit in Levin this morning.
Shortly before 11.00am a repossession agent who was trying to repossess a car phoned Police to advise that the owner had fled a Levin address in the vehicle which was to be repossessed.
Police then received a number of driving complaints about the manner in which the vehicle was being driven around Levin.
A Police unit located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, however the driver failed to stop for Police.
As the vehicle was pursued into Kimberley Road (Levin) the driver deliberately rammed a Police vehicle, rendering it inoperable.
The offending driver was pursued further by another Police vehicle, but the pursuit was abandoned due to the manner of the offender's driving.
The vehicle and driver were both located in the Levin township a short time later - and as a result a 19yr old Levin man will be facing a number of driving charges in the Levin District Court.
