Water Rescue in Auckland City District
At about 4.30 a.m a boat has hit rocks on the norhtern side of Motuihe Island causing the boat to sink.
A male has swum for an hour before reaching the shore to raise the alarm.
His wife was left clinging to the side of the boat.
Westpac, coast guard and Police Maritime services attended and located the female still in the water at about 0647hrs.
She is in a serious condition and has been taken to Auckland hospital.
