Due to an accident involving a truck at the Coquet Street / Thames Street intersection it is currently not being controlled by traffic signals. Disruptions to traffic are expected to last a week until replacement parts for the control box arrive and can be fitted. Oamaru Police, Waitaki District Council, NZ Transport Agency and Fulton Hogan are working together to ensure this intersection is as safe as possible.

Points to note:
· State Highway traffic has priority over side road traffic which will be controlled by temporary signage.
· To improve visibility and safety, temporary traffic management is in place, limiting some vehicle movements.
· While signals are not in operation pedestrians need to take extra care.
· Disruption is expected for at least 5 days.
· Please use alternate routes where possible.

Thank you for your patience.
