Albany ANZ Bank Robbery - Man Appears In Court

A 27 year old male will appear in the North Shore District Court today charged with the robbery of the Albany branch ANZ bank on Thursday the 16th July 2009.

The man was arrested by North Shore Police early this morning after he handed himself into the Auckland City Police.

Detective Sergeant Scott Armstrong said that none of the money taken in the robbery had been recovered and it was unlikely any would be given the activity the male engaged in after the robbery.

Police say the charge of robbery carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.
