Serious assault in Birkenhead

North Shore Police are investigating a serious assault that occurred around 5pm on Friday the 17th of July 2009 at a residential address in Roseberry Ave, BIRKENHEAD.

As a result of the incident a 48 year old man is in Auckland Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 55 year old man is appearing in the North Shore District Court on Saturday the 18th of July 2009. He is facing one charge of Crimes Act Assault but more serious charges are likely to be laid.

Police and forensic teams will be at the address over the weekend completing the scene examination.

Both parties are occupants of the address and Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
