Saturday’s racing in the Portugal Trophy MedCup regatta was abandoned when the breeze failed to kick in.  Yachts did not leave the dock as the south-westerly breeze didn't get above 3-4 knots.

Emirates Team New Zealand is anxious to get some racing in tomorrow but there’s not a lot of hope in the forecast. Trailing the Swedish boat Artemis by 1.5 points after six of 11 scheduled races, Dean Barker and the crew want another shot at gaining the lead.

Grant Dalton: “We would hate to finish the regatta so close. We need one more race - assuming we can finish ahead of Artemis and there’s one boat between NZL380 and them. That would give us two points, enough to do the job. Of course it could easily go the other way…..”

Emirates Team New Zealand on 111.5 points still leads the Audi MedCup series overall, a clear 50 points ahead of second-placed Matador, with Artemis  third on 165.5
