STAUNCH Sanson advocate, Del Parker, is urging the town’s creative writers and artists to support a call for designing two billboards near the former Sanson Hotel.

The signs will alert visitors to the existence of an upgraded public toilet block to be established at the rear of the building later in the year.

One of the signs is planned for a spot near the town’s current toilets on Dundas Road – which are targeted for demolition - and the other in the vicinity of the layby/carpark area near the proposed toilet block.
Mrs Parker said Sanson was lucky enough to have a number of creative people living in the town and hoped they would consider putting their ideas forward.

“The Sanson Community Committee is really keen for people to get on board,” she said.
Economic Development and Projects Officer, Suzanne Craig, said Manawatu District Council was offering a prize for the most innovative signage incorporating slogans, photos or drawings.
Entries can be sent to Ms Craig at MDC, Private Bag 10-001, Feilding 4743, or email Suzanne.craig@mdc.govt.nz by Monday, August 31.
