One dead as bitumen tank explodes in Greymouth

At around 9.40am this morning Emergency Services were called to an explosion in the Fulton Hogan Yard at Main South Road, Karoro Greymouth. An 18000 litre bitumen tank had exploded. People were working on and around the tank at the time.
One Man died immediately. We are unable to release his name or age at this time as next of kin have yet to be advised. We are not able to comment on the cause of the explosion at this time. OSH are investigating.
