Warship HMNZS TE KAHA departs the Devonport Naval Base at 10:00am on Friday 3 August to commence a four month operational and exercise period in Australia and South East Asia.

Fresh from his success at the Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Awards last week, the Captain of HMNZS TE KAHA, Commander Andy Grant (Devonport), will lead his crew of 177 men and women out of the Auckland Harbour to re-supply the Department of Conservation Staff at Raoul Island (Kermadecs) enroute to Darwin, the first port of call.

TE KAHA will represent New Zealand in Port Klang, Okinawa, Kure, Zhanjiang, Sasebo and Shanghai during the deployment. As our largest neighbour, the scheduled exercise periods with Australia are seen as a valuable opportunity to not only share operational capabilities, but provide benefits to both Navies in developing and improving skills.
