This week SKYCITY Cinemas will install four new 3D cinema screens in Auckland and Hamilton to add to SKYCITY’s already impressive number of 3D cinema viewing cinemas in operation across the country.
Gone are the days of wearing the old red and blue cardboard glasses! SKYCITY Cinemas now offers the world’s best state of the art Dolby 3D digital technology, allowing the audience to be immersed in the movie experience.
The new 3D screens will be installed at Westcity, Queen Street, a second in Albany and a screen at Chartwell in Hamilton. Screens are already operating at St Lukes, Albany, Manukau and Queensgate, Wellington.
SKYCITY Cinemas General Manager, Jane Hastings is excited about the new technology that SKYCITY has to offer to the New Zealand public.
“We are delighted to be able to offer New Zealanders the best in 3D cinema technology. With the numerous 3D films planned for release, we are sure that the young and young at heart will be delighted with the immersive cinema experience now available at SKYCITY Cinemas”
Dolby 3D uses a unique colour filter technology that provides a very realistic colour reproduction. Through this technology it provides extremely sharp images delivering a great 3D experience to the audience. Uniquely to the Dolby 3D solution, the technology also simplifies the process of creating and distributing movies as there is no need for extra colour correction or other compensation process in postproduction.
Experience the 3D cinema experience these school holidays with Disney’s UP 3D and Disney’s G-Force 3D playing. SKYCITY offers the best 3D family pass at $50.00.
