MANAWATU District Council is offering interested parties the chance to discuss its resource consent application to Horizons Regional Council for the continued operation of the Feilding Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Wastes Manager, Peterson Asante, said a copy of the executive summary of the council’s final six-suite draft application had been sent to a number of individuals and organisations throughout the district.

The recipients include submitters to the MDC’s initial resource consent application in April this year – an application it later placed on hold after further engineering studies by council allowed the original scheme proposed to be enhanced.

Mr Asante said with the initial application having been amended to incorporate the latest findings, those submitters now needed to make a further submission through the regional council notification process.

Manawatu’s amended application is to be lodged with Horizons no later than Wednesday, October 21.

Mr Asante said a complete set of the draft applications was available at MDC’s front office in Manchester Street, Feilding, for inspection and he was available on (06) 323-0000 or via peterson.asante@mdc.govt.nz
He would appreciate hearing from those interested by Wednesday, October 14, in order to allow time to take into account any issues that may arise.
