A Message to Tawa Residents: Get Voting Now!

By early next week, Tawa residents should have received their voting papers for the Tawa Community Board by-election and electors are encouraged to send their votes in before Saturday 21 November.

The election is to fill one vacancy on the Community Board and is being held by postal vote under the single transferable voting (STV) electoral system. Voting papers must be returned by post or delivered to the Electoral Officer by 12 noon on Saturday 21 November.
The following candidates are standing for election:

• Maree Helen LIBEAU (Independent)
• Carol LONG (Independent)
• Margaret LUCAS (Independent)
• Thomas G P MORGAN
• Malcolm Lloyd SPARROW (Independent)
• Alistair SUTTON (Independent)
• Neil John WILSON (Tawa Listening Project).

The Council's Electoral Officer, Ross Bly, is urging Tawa residents to send their votes in promptly. "Too often people let procrastination rob them of their chance to vote. If you want to have your say, don't leave it too late."
People who enrol between 2 October and 20 November must apply to the Electoral Officer for a special vote if they want to vote in the by-election.

A polling booth will be open to issue special votes from Friday

30 October to Friday 20 November at the Wellington City Council Service Centre, ground floor, 101 Wakefield Street. The booth will be open from 8.00am to 5.00pm weekdays only and from 9.00am to
12 noon on election day - Saturday 21 November.
