Float plane blows engine over Lake Taupo

Police have been informed of an aircraft incident where a float plane has blown an engine whilst in mid flight over lake Taupo. Members of the Public who were enjoying a days fishing called 111 after seeing a smoke trail coming from the rear of the plane. A full emergency was initiated, but the plane managed to land safely on the water in Tokannu Bay. Nil persons were injured in this incident. CAA have been advised.
