The Northern Knights have launched a colourful uniform to be worn in their HRV Cup Twenty20 domestic matches this summer.

To support their new official charity, the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, the Northern Knights will wear a pink uniform. This is a change from their traditional maroon and gold.

Chief Executive David Cooper said in launching the new look, “We are committed to raising the awareness levels of the public around breast cancer. While we are looking to ultimately raise additional funding for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, we also want to ensure their cause is promoted and awareness grows.”

The change of uniform colour has been well received by the players as they look forward to wearing pink throughout January and the HRV Cup.

James Marshall, captain of the Northern Knights said, “It is incredibly exciting as we have looked to support a number of good causes in the past, but our relationship with New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is at a much higher level. The boys will wear the pink uniform with pride, hoping somewhere and some time our support will make a difference to someone's life.”
