Only one week left to freeze Mt Ruapehu season pass price for three years

The last day of Spring will also signal the last day for snow enthusiasts to purchase their super cheap 2010 Mt Ruapehu season passes, and have that price frozen until the 2012 season.

This is the first time in New Zealand that a ski area has offered season pass purchasers the chance to freeze their purchase price for three years.

2010 season passes are on sale until next Monday (30 November) for the discounted price of $370 (adult) and $230 (youth). Those wanting to take advantage of the three-year price freeze deal must purchase a season pass each year at the same time.

Mike Smith, Mt Ruapehu marketing manager says there has been huge interest in the price freeze offer this month, and this has been helped by the record-long season Mt Ruapehu enjoyed this year.

“The cooler Spring weather, together with the increased snowmaking throughout the year, has helped 2009 go down in the record books as being the longest season in the Southern Hemisphere, and certainly at Mt Ruapehu in recent history.

“This season Turoa experienced record visitor numbers, and even Whakapapa despite the arson attack in February had impressive numbers go through the gates,” says Mr Smith.

As an added bonus, those who purchased a 2009 season pass in November 2008 for $350 will keep paying only $350 until 2011 (for the 2012 season) if they purchase a pass over consecutive years.

“This really is the best season pass deal on offer at the moment in terms of value for money, and it’s perfect timing for Christmas,” says Mr Smith.
