Clemenger Group has appointed Nick Garrett as Managing Director of Colenso BBDO beginning March 1st 2010.

Nick joins the agency from BMF Sydney, one of the most creatively driven and awarded agencies in Australia, and the country’s largest Indy agency with more than 200 staff. He is a senior member of management at BMF running major business including the award winning work for Tooheys Extra Dry from Lion Nathan.

Clemenger Group CEO Jim Moser says the intensive recruitment process began six months ago, and that Nick was the unanimous choice of the senior management at Colenso BBDO.

He has embraced the massive changes in communications today that is evidenced by the work he has driven for brands such as Tooheys Extra Dry, Sony Playstation and many others. Nick Worthington, Colenso BBDO Executive Creative Director says: “There was an instant chemistry with Nick. He’s intense and very serious about great work, and clearly on the same path as Colenso in his belief that some of the best and most progressive work is coming out of this region. I think he’ll be a great fit and I know we’ll do some great work and I’m pretty damn sure we’ll have a lot of fun doing it.”

Thirty-five year old Nick is Australian-born but was raised in the UK and started his career in a graduate trainee programme in London. After working at two very successful agencies there, he moved to Sydney with TBWA\Chiat working on accounts such as Sony Playstation, Mars and Absolut. Five years later, he relocated to the US with the same agency based out of LA before returning to Sydney to join BMF a few years later.

Commenting on his appointment Nick says: "It is a great honour to join an agency like Colenso.
