SKYCITY confirms $50K prize pool in Auckland Anniversary Poker Championships

SKYCITY is pleased to announce the return of the second annual SKYCITY Auckland Anniversary Poker Championship. The tournament will be held at SKYCITY Poker from 25 January and 1 February 2010, with the main event held from 31 January till 1 February. There is an already guaranteed prize pool of $50,000.00.

In 2010 the Auckland Anniversary Poker Championships coincide with Chinese New Year, which for 2010 is ‘Year of the Tiger’ and follows the theme of ‘Be Brave’. Players will need to cal on their bravery for this tournament as with only 180 places available, the quality of players is expected to be exceptionally high.

Satellites for the championships will begin on Monday 25 January and are held at SKYCITY Auckland’s poker room, SKYCITY Poker. Entry into the Satellites is from as little as $20.00 with $20.00 re-buys. The Auckland Anniversary Poker Championships main event buy-in is $1,100.00 NZD.

Satellites for the Auckland Anniversary Poker Championships will begin from the start of January with satellites running on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Buy-in’s for the satellite tournaments range from as little as $20.00 up to $230.00.

There will be side events running from 25 January as well as the satellites including:

· Auckland Anniversary No Limit Texas Hold’em 6 Handed

· Auckland Anniversary No Limit Texas Hold’em Ladies
