Tatton/Mangakawhia intersection crash - Whangarei

6.23pm 28/12/09 - Police and other emergency services are currently attending a serious one car crash at the intersection of Tatton and Mangakawhia Rd in Whangarei. The vehicle has gone over a ditch at this location with 3 occupants in it.

Two occupants made it out of the vehicle with critical injuries. One was trapped inside but has now been freed.

Two of the three occupants injuries are categorised as status 2 bleeding profusely from the head areas. They have been transported to the Whangarei hospital.

The third whose injuries are reported to be status one is still at the scene being revived by ambulance staff.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
