Dulux launches revolutionary new paint for kitchens & bathrooms

Leading New Zealand paint manufacturer, Dulux has launched a breakthrough new product that not only offers superior durability to help protect surfaces in two of the most popular and used areas of the home, but provides a virtually impenetrable safeguard against common household nasties such as bacteria and mould.

The innovative new interior paint, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom, has been developed specifically for use in areas that require regular cleaning and protection against mould and bacteria growth, such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.

Utilising the latest technologies, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom is an incredibly resilient paint that offers a winning combination of superior durability and unparalleled protection against mould and bacteria growth all in the one product.

One of the key features of Dulux’s new Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom is its ability to repel mould – a common problem that affects one third of New Zealand homes and is thought to contribute to health issues such as asthma[*].

“Mould occurs virtually anywhere that moisture occurs, so kitchens and bathrooms are obviously very susceptible to developing it,” said Robertson.

Using highly effective mould resistant technology, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom, which comes with a seven year guarantee against mould growth, contains a formula that prevents mould spores from growing and adhering to the paint surface.

The product also protects against mould stains and odours, keeping walls and ceilings fresh and clean.

In addition to its mould resistant properties, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom contains a unique anti-bacterial formulation that actively inhibits bacteria from growing, providing protection against human, pet and food borne bacteria, bacteria stains and odours.

The anti-bacterial formula is embedded into the latex of the product so it will not wash or wear off from the surface of the paint, offering long-term anti-bacterial protection.

“When used alongside regular cleaning, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom provides a high standard of hygiene, which is obviously incredibly important in areas such as kitchens where food is prepared and eaten,” said Robertson.

Utilising Dulux’s patented and proven Wash & Wear technology, the tough protective finish of the product guards against stains left behind by grease, food and beverages in the kitchen and the residue resulting from soap, cosmetics and grooming products in the bathroom.

Water based, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom has been developed to ensure brush loading and application is maximised, providing a smoother, more even paint finish.

Available in low-sheen and semi-gloss finishes, Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom is available in a wide range of colours from the Dulux Colours of New Zealand collection and comes in handy 1L, 2L and 4L pails.

Dulux Wash & Wear Kitchen & Bathroom will be available from all major hardware retailers nationwide from February 25.
