Swimmer's body located

At 1736 hrs Tuesday 24th February 2010, the Police were advised that a 15 year old male was missing in the Waimakariri River near the old bridge. This person had been swimming with family members. Despite searches by Police , Coastguard and helicopter the male was not located.

The Police Dive Squad was called and attended on Wednesday 24th February 2010. The body was located at 1255 hrs near to the vicinity he was last seen.

The deceased's name has not been released pending relatives being advised.
