The draft final Cromwell Town Centre redevelopment report is available for comment fromWednesday 21 April. This will largely be a written version of the public presentation held on March29, incorporating any worthy ideas raised at that time. Urbanism identified “seven big moves” that itfeels will be the drivers and principles for improving The Mall.

“This opportunity is to comment or provide correction to the report being prepared for the CromwellCommunity Board by Urbanism Plus. For example, you may consider that an aspect of the plan isnot fully developed or there is missing information or there is an error of fact. We would also likeyour thoughts about the seven key principles – have we got them right?” says BusinessDevelopment Manager for Central Otago District Council, Jonathan Gadd.

Mr Gadd adds “it is not normal for consultants’ reports to be given to the public for comment prior tobeing finalised. However, the intention has always been to engage as much as we can indeveloping the plan, and this is part of the engagement.

”After the Board has received the final report a full formal consultation process will take place. Thiswill be the appropriate time to comment on the actual details of the plan or to suggest alternatives. The draft report is available on the Council’s website (www.codc.govt.nz) and on www.centralotagonz.com.

Alternatively, copies can be obtained by contacting the Council’s business development manager, Jonathan Gadd by email: jonathan.gadd@codc.govt.nz

All feedback received will be collated and fed back to Urbanism Plus, the company engaged toundertake a detailed urban design review of The Mall. All feedback relating to the draft final report must be received by the Central Otago District Councilby 5pm on April 30
