The fire damaged area on the Raglan wharf has been cleared and the wharf is now safe for public access.
Demolition and site clearing work was completed by local company Raglan Excavators.

Water & Facilities General Manager, Richard Bax, said the Waikato District Council is currently working with insurance assessors on the claim for the building destroyed by fire on 13 April.

“Once this step in the process is complete, Council can turn its attention to rebuilding the Raglan Wharf.

“It is definitely Council’s intention to involve the Raglan community in rebuilding this iconic area. Any proposed development will be open to public consultation,” he said.
