One dead, five injured in Picton teen crash

At about 10.20pm on Saturday the 24th April, a single vehicle crash occurred at Koromiko on State Highway One, south of Picton.

There were 6-local Picton youths in the vehicle at the time, all of which were under the age of 18-years.

As a result a 17-year old male died at the scene, while 5-others received various degrees of injuries, with one 17-year old male being flown to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition with the others remaining in Wairau Hospital.

Police Serious Crash Unit are examining the scene today with the road being reduced to one lane.

The deceased name will not be released until all next of kin have been informed.
