On Saturday May 29th 2010, scooterists will conquer the Alps in the second Tranz Alpine Scooter Safari.

The Scooter Safari is an endurance ride, coast to coast, Christchurch to Hokitika, a journey of over 250kms to raise funds for the New Zealand Cancer Society.

The Safari is not a race – it’s an awareness-raising and fundraising event for the survivors, families of those with cancer and those committed to making a difference. By raising funds for the Cancer Society we are helping them continue their amazing work making sure those people living with cancer, their family, friends and colleagues as well as the health professionals that support them get access to information and support, from the moment of diagnosis right through to treatment and recovery.

In 2009, 32 riders made the maiden voyage, raising more than $14,000 in donations for the Cancer Society. In 2010, the vision is to get over 100 scooters on the road and to raise more than $25,000 in donations.

To find out more about participating in the ride, showing your support on the day, or making a donation, please visit the event website: www.scootersafari.co.nz
