Charges to be laid for Masterton death

A local man will be brought before the Masterton District Court following a man's death at a Lansdowne address in Masterton this morning.

Charges are being finalised and the Court appearance is expected to be made this afternoon.

Enquiries are continuing with the investigation. Officers are conducting enquiries with a number of people to establish the circumstances which led to the death. A forensic examination has begun at the Lansdowne address and is expected to be completed over the next few days.

No-one else is sought in connection to the incident.

Police were advised of an incident at a Landsdowne address occupied by two people in a flatting situation at around 2.55am this morning.

The identity of the deceased will not be released at this time.
