TCDC Libraries host free winter reading programme for children
Parents looking for a fun and free activity for children these school holidays can bank on a great range of activities at TCDC libraries. Bank On Books begins in the July school holidays and runs for five weeks. The programme, which has a money theme, rewards reading with prizes, activities and incentives to help keep children interested and excited by books. The aim is to demonstrate to children that a small daily investment of time adds up to big rewards, shown through heightened and broadened reading ability as well as incentive prizes at the programme end. Bank on Books is open to all primary school aged students and registrations are now open for limited places.

Community Service Awards chance to thank someone worthy
It only takes a moment of your time and it's a great opportunity to demonstrate how much you appreciate somebody worthy in your community, says TCDC Mayor Philippa Barriball of the need for people to send in nominations for The Thames-Coromandel District Community Service Awards and Youth Community Awards. Nominations close at 4pm on July 9 and awards are presented in September.
