Sony Ericsson today announces the new Xperia™ X10 mini pro, the compact version of Xperia™ X10, delivering a powerful and application packed mobile phone into the market. With the introduction of a mobile phone that is both small and sociable, Sony Ericsson is challenging the norm and defining a brand new offering that combines high specification features with a version of Sony Ericsson’s powerful UX platform specifically designed for smaller devices.

Communication truly becomes entertainment with the stylish human curvature design of the Xperia™ X10 mini pro, combined with touch navigation optimised for compact screens and a full QWERTY slider keypad for quick texting and emailing.

To enhance the experience, pick and choose from a multitude of applications at Android Market™ and co-create a mobile phone experience that is entirely unique. A clever graphical user interface, with four customisable touch corners and intuitive navigation, opens up limitless possibilities to access favourite applications, social networking, web links and email with just one touch.

“With the Xperia™ X10 mini pro we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with smaller devices and are giving consumers exactly what they want; a high performance mobile phone with a fully customisable user experience platform and a stunning ultra-compact design,” says Brendan Johnston, Managing Director, Sony Ericsson Oceania. “There has been an enormous buzz around Xperia™ X10 in New Zealand so it is very exciting to already be unveiling a compact version of this powerful proposition.”

The X10 mini pro incorporates Sony Ericsson Timescape™, the signature application which brings all communication together in one place so users can see text messages, missed calls, and Facebook™ and Twitter updates at a glance, without having to open various different applications. The interactive music player also uses the Infinite button to pull together all music content from the music store and YouTube™ – a smart way to search for new tracks from a favourite artist.
