PALMERSTON NORTH

A casual Facebook survey by a leading New Zealand fashion boutique Evolution Clothing was one of the deciding factors for opening its first Palmerston North store.

Miranda Cobb, owner of Evolution Clothing, says they currently have over 1500 facebook fans and they recently asked them where they would like the next store to open.

“The feedback that was posted on our site and the emails and messages that were consequently sent to us, was that Evolution Clothing followers wanted a store in Palmerston North,” says Cobb.
She says they had been considering this move for a while, as they often get Palmerston North customers inquiring at their other six stores wanting them to open a local boutique.

“We really do listen to our customers and Facebook is an easy way for our customers to talk to us. When opening a store we also take into consideration the demographics of an area, the position of the store, the climate and our competitors.

“It’s really exciting to be opening our next store later this month – we believe there is a gap in the market in Palmerston North for affordable fashion that is straight off the catwalk.

Evolution Clothing is designed for women aged 18 to 45, but Cobb says she has customers who are over 60.

“Our customers are people who love wearing the most fashionable clothing at affordable prices,” says Cobb. “We only stock around 5 pieces of each item, per store, so people know they won’t see everyone else wearing the same garments.”

Located in the newly refurbished Plaza, in the city centre, Evolution Clothing will open its doors on Saturday 31 July and will celebrate with free cupcakes for all customers.

Evolution Clothing’s latest collections can now be viewed and purchased on-line at www.evolutionclothing.co.nz which is designed to complement their other North Island stores that are located at Ponsonby, Wellington, Gisborne, Taupo, Mount Maunganui and Hamilton.
