New Chums development being publicly notified

Thames-Coromandel District Council has publicly notified a resource consent application from Coastal Land Trust Holdings Ltd in respect of a proposed development at New Chums (Wainuiototo) Beach.

The application is seeking permission to create 20 residential lots ranging in size from 1,520m2 to 23,043m2 with identified building sites with associated accessways and a further covenant-protected lot of 306 ha.

The applicants are also seeking approval to create an esplanade reserve along New Chums Beach and to protect an historic Pa site.

Submissions are now open and close at 5 pm on 17 August, 2010. A decision on when to hear the application will be made once the number of submissions is known.
