Design and Arts College of NZ staging major interior design graduation exhibition

Fourteen Design and Arts College of NZ students will stage a staging major graduation exhibition in Christchurch next week.



All the interior design students are in the second year of their diploma and they are graduating at the end of next week. The exhibition – labelled All Squared Up - opens on Tuesday August 10 and runs through to September 10. Many students are expected to be offered jobs as a result of their exhibition work.



The D and A College has about 400 students covering design and arts preparation, foundation, fine arts, graphic design, architectural design, interior design, fashion design, and make-up design and production.

The interior design students designed interior space and décor for motels, as designed by the college’s architectural students.



The exhibition showing a mix of residential and commercial designs will be on display in the ground floor gallery space at the college for a month from next Tuesday.



The exhibition will also showcase furniture design including some full scale models. One student has entered their design into the national Designers Institute of NZ Best Awards, with finalists announced next month.
