Truck closes road near Hira

2.11pm - Motorists travelling between Nelson and Blenhiem on State Highway 6 are advised that a truck has rolled near Hira.

The road is blocked and no traffic is able to get passed and until emergency services arrive it is unlikely that any vehicles will be able to get passed for some time as heavy lifting gear will most likely be required to move the truck.

There is no close by-pass and the only other route available is by state Highway 6 to Murchison and then by SHW 63 to Blenhiem.

No emergency service has yet arrived at the crash site.
