TAUPO

Taupo Police are investigating the theft of a large number of mag wheels and a Go Kart from a commercial Taupo address earlier this month.

Between August 5 and August 13 thieves have entered an old car showroom, and uplifted approximately 25 sets of mag wheels at a value of $1000 per set and two sets of mag wheels for a race car valued at $1000 per wheel.

The offender(s) have also removed a Go Kart, described as a KT100 series, coloured blue.

The stolen property has an estimated value of more than $40,000.

Constable Donna Little of Taupo Police says the mag wheels have a distinctive 'H' in the centre.

She says police would like to hear from anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of this property or those involved in its unauthorised removal.

"This is a large scale theft operation and would require a large space to store the stolen property. We welcome the assistance of the community in locating this property and identifying those responsible," she says.

Any information can be forwarded to Taupo Police on 378 6060
