Police investigate serious sexual assault

Wanaka Police are investigating a complaint of serious sexual assault made by a 22 year old female visitor to the town.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in the female toilets in the Mint Bar sometime in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday 31st August 2010.

The Mint Bar is situated in Brownston Street, Wanaka.

Police are keen to talk to a youngish Caucasian male who was seen in the toilets around this time.

Detective Dave Evans of the Wanaka Police would like to hear from anyone who was at the Mint Bar on the Monday evening or the following morning who saw any suspicious behaviour involving a male in or around the female toilets over the course of the evening.
