Body In Harbour Identified

North Shore Police have received confirmation that the body found in Waitematä Harbour last Sunday morning is that of a woman who was earlier reported missing from Auckland Hospital.

She was:

THOMAS/Suzanne Leigh
Female – aged 54 years
Resident of St. Heliers

Ms THOMAS went missing about two weeks ago and her body was found floating in the sea at Chelsea Bay on Sunday 12 September 2010. The Police Maritime Unit went to the area near Birkenhead wharf and recovered the body.

Her death is referred to the Coroner. Next of kin have been informed.
