“AREA 201 gig a huge success!” say Youth Councillors.

A great crowd turned out for the Nesian Mystik concert hosted by Stratford District Youth Council last Friday night.

Over 600 people attended the gig at the Stratford High School Hall.

Nesian Mystik weren’t the only crowd pleasers though, with the line up including a bunch of local and national talent.

Glasgow: Smile a local Stratford High School band, BPM a Stratford hip hop dance crew, Home Steady Roots from Opunake, and A Kiss Goodbye from Tauranga entertained the crowd before Nesian Mystik made their way onto the stage.

New Plymouth MC Ash Haimona and Te Korimako were on board for the night and did a fantastic job keeping the crowd amused between performances with competitions and free giveaways.

The concert was organised by Stratford District Youth Council who aim to provide youth with cheap, fun and accessible activities every year.

Stratford District Youth Council Chairman Dylan O’Neill says, “the night was mean as and its awesome that we have the opportunity to do something like this for young people in the region”.

“A big thanks to everyone that helped out and supported the event”.

AREA 201 gig was able to happen due to the support from Stratford District Council, Taranaki Electricity Trust and the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board.
