A 50 year old Rotorua male was fatally injured this morning in a logging accident in the Whenuakite area near Whitianga.

Officers from the Department of Labour and the Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

No further details of the accident are available and no details of the deceased will be released until next of kin have been advised.
