A Red Bull Thre3Style DJ needs precise technical skills, unbelievable track selection and most importantly, the ability to rock the crowd and incite bedlam on the dance floor!

The battle is now on: who will represent NZ at the world Thre3Style finals in Paris in December 2010?

Red Bull Thre3Style is not your standard DJ contest; it’s a creative format that gives highly skilled DJs the platform to prove their supremacy in technicality and the true art of rocking a party. Next month DJs from across NZ will fight for the crowd’s, and the judges’ favour, with a 15 minute set containing at least three different genres. DJs are then judged on four criteria; skills, creativity, track selection and most importantly, crowd response.

The winner of Thre3Style New Zealand will fly to Paris to compete in the Red Bull Thre3Style World Finals on December 9th 2010. They will be up against the best party rockers from all corners of the globe including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Ecuador, France, Japan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA to the United Kingdom. One of these DJs will be crowned the best party rocker in the world!

The Thre3Style winner will be found from two regional qualifiers, Wellington November 19th at San Francisco Bath House and Auckland on November 20th at The Studio which will host both the regional qualifier and the national final.

To keep the party rocking after the DJ’s battle it out, Canada’s Skratch Bastid will make a special performance at each gig in Wellington and Auckland.
Skratch Bastid is the quintessential Red Bull Thre3Style judge and headliner. He has competed in the DMC’s, ITV and won Canada’s legendary Scribble Jam three times. What makes Bastid the perfect Thre3Style DJ was his ability to take the technical side of DJing and classic party rocking to get people moving on the dance floor.

“My style is, I guess, what they are looking for in this competition. A little bit of the technical stuff along with knowing how to play the right music for the dance floor’ says The Bastid.

The peacekeeper on the evenings will be Kiwi music icon, P Diggs and the judges will be 3 experts from within the music scene and industry.

Tickets available from Real Groovy and I Ticket.
