UPPER HUTT

A homicide inquiry has been launched after a 50 year old man collapsed and died, following a domestic incident in Trentham, Upper Hutt overnight.

Officer in charge of the inquiry, Detective Inspector Mike Johnson says as a result, an 18 year old male has been arrested and will be appearing in the Upper Hutt District Court later today, charged with assault. No other person is being sought in relation to this matter.

"This matter is being investigated to establish exactly how this man has died and if any person is responsible. A scene examination is being carried out over much of today."

The name of the victim will not be released until all next of kin have been advised.
