SKYCITY Brings the Melbourne Cup to Auckland's CBD

On Tuesday 2 November, SKYCITY Auckland will be in full celebration for the world famous Melbourne Cup!

To get festivities started early, SKYCITY is bringing a real live horse to the central city which will be parading around the CBD from midday until 2pm accompanied by a SKYCITY Showgirl and two jockeys.

The great race is being screened throughout SKYCITY Auckland live at 5pm with TAB stations located at Sammy’s Place on the Main Casino Floor and on Level 3 of SKYCITY next to the Blend cafe taking bets right up until the race.

Punters are encouraged to arrive at 4.30pm to take advantage of the great Happy Hour food and beverage offers at twentyone, Sammy’s Place and Bellota which will run until 6.30pm.

There will be a horse with a SKYCITY Showgirl and two jockeys in full silks based at the Sky Tower and around the CBD from 12pm until 2pm.

Between midday and 1pm they will be doing a loop of the Auckland CBD going from the Sky Tower, down Victoria Street West, along Albert Street to Customs Street, up Queen Street and back to the Sky Tower.  The reverse loop will be done between 1pm and 2pm.
