Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteers still needed: Northland

Interviews are being held next week for people who have applied to be Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) volunteers – and there’s still a chance for those yet to register to get involved.

Interviews are being held at the Northland Events Centre in Whangarei over two days next week. If you haven’t already registered, you can still register on the spot to be interviewed on Monday 8 November between 4pm and 7pm.

Sport Northland’s Colleen Atchison says there are still gaps to be filled, but people need to be quick as interviews need to be completed this year to allow training and uniforms to be organised.

“Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity for residents to be involved in one of the biggest sporting events our country will ever host,” Mrs Atchison says.

“Let’s make sure we show off our region, and the entire country, at its best. In Northland we are well known for our warm welcome and hospitable people. Now is our chance to show the world just how great a place we have here.”
