Death in custody of alleged sex offender

A 33-year-old male facing a number of alleged sexual assault charges has died while remanded in custody at a Waikato correctional facility overnight.

The man's death has been reported to the Coroner and Police investigating the death are not seeking anyone else in relation to the matter at this time.
