BLACKCAPS send best wishes to trapped miners and their families

Speaking during the current Test match in Nagpur, India, BLACKCAPS captain Daniel Vettori said the team are closely following the news about the trapped miners at Pike River on the West Coast of New Zealand.

“The team was shocked by the news,” said Vettori. “Players heard about the incident when they woke this morning. Family and friends sent updates and there was a brief news article in the local paper.”

“Everyone is hoping that the miners are OK. Our thoughts are with the families and the Pike River community,” Vettori added.
