Scene examination to continue today on Wellington apartment where man found dead

Wellington Police will continue a scene examination today at an apartment block on Taranaki Street, following the death of a man earlier yesterday.

The 20 year old Wanganui man fell from the sixth floor of an apartment balcony about 7:30am Sunday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard says the death is being treated as an unexplained death until a post-mortem examination is carried out tomorrow.

"A scene examination has been underway for much of the day and is likely to conclude tomorrow. Following this, the matter will be referred to the Coroner."

The name of the deceased will not be released until all next of kin have been advised.
