Water rescue- Pakiri

Police and emergency services including the West Pac helicopter are presently searching Pakiri beach on the west coast, approximately 6 kilometres north of Goat Island.

At 10.00pm a distraught female aged in her early twenties was seen entering into the sea off Pakiri beach but not seen to emerge.

Witness's called Police as they were concerned for her safety.
